Patrick Blair said he is seeking re-election because Alexandria is a gem in Northern Kentucky, and having raised his family there, he is deeply invested in its future.
With over 30 years with Fortune 500 companies, and now teaching high school juniors and seniors, Blair said he knows that strong communities require thoughtful stewardship. He is seeking re-election to continue contributing that experience to the city while maintaining the balance, space and pace of life that make Alexandria home while ensuring it remains a vibrant, effectively run community.
Blair faces Tom Baldridge, Laura Fincher, Stacey Graus, Michael McGrath, Nick Sears and Christopher Vaught-Hall in the Nov. 3 general election.
His path to local leadership took root through the Campbell County Citizens Academy, which Blair said showed him how effective local government directly improves daily life.
“I’m motivated by genuine collaboration,” Blair said. “A key priority of mine will be doing my part to ensure mayor-elect Bob Strong and judge/executive-elect Andy Schabell get off to a great start in their new leadership roles. Having strong, cooperative working relationships across City Hall and Campbell County is essential for our shared success.
Should he be re-elected, Blair said his first priority would be guiding smart, controlled growth while strengthening regional partnerships.
As chair of council’s “Future Planning Committee,” Blair said his immediate focus is updating Alexandria’s comprehensive plan so smart development aligns with Alexandria’s core values. Representing the city on the OKI Regional Council of Governments board, Blair said, gives Alexandria a strong voice in transportation and environmental planning.
From completing the new city campus building to partnering with Strong and Schabell, Blair said his focus remains on keeping Alexandria forward-looking, fiscally sound and deeply responsive to residents.
