Mike Clines is seeking reelection to the Kentucky House of Representatives, where he represents House District 68.

Clines, a Republican from Alexandria, was first elected to the seat in 2022 and took office in January 2023.

Clines faces Democratic challenger Amy Amin in the Nov. 3 general election.

“Representing this community well is personal to me,” Clines said. “I grew up here, raised my family here, and built my career here. Campbell County is home. I’m running again because there’s more work to do, and I have the career leadership experience and commitment to get it done.”

He is vice chair of the House Primary and Secondary Education Committee, where he has focused on K-12 policy, school safety, and workforce development. His legislative work includes House Bill 300 in 2024 to protect due process for certified educators and House Bill 413 in 2025 to improve student transportation safety in small school districts, including Fort Thomas Independent Schools. He also led the creation of the Autism in Education Task Force and led the way for House Bill 361 to strengthen recruitment and retention of health care professionals statewide.

Clines highlighted infrastructure funding secured for District 68, including the KY 536 extension, local assistance road funding, the reopening of KY 8, and finalizing upgrades to KY 709. Additional investments he championed include $5 million for the Fort Thomas Athletic Complex and $1.75 million to bring access to Easterseals Redwood services in Campbell County.

At the national level, Clines was selected for and completed the Hunt Kean Leadership Fellowship, a bipartisan education policy program recognizing emerging legislative leaders.  He joins alumni such as Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman and Secretary of State Michael Adams. His work has also earned recognition and support from the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Northern Kentucky Education Council.
