Kathy Zembrodt is the incumbent mayoral candidate for Park Hills, having been first elected to the position in 2018. She will face challenger David Costas in November.

Zembrodt formerly served on the city council and touted her ability to get the city’s finances under control as one of her biggest accomplishments. She even called a “passion for the budget to be done right” as one of her motivations for running again.

“I have served for almost 16 years now, and the city has [an] updated website, equipment, vehicles for fire and police and public works, and taxes have been lowered a few times over that time,” Zembrodt said. “Many safety measures have been taken to keep the budget and finances going in the right direction.”

Future priorities she named included finishing a road conversion project for Arlington Road (and funding it). She’d also like to establish a small shelter house in Trolley Park per residents’ requests and generally improve sidewalks and walkability.

“Most importantly, if residents have a question of anything going on in the city, I will talk to them about anything they need,” Zembrodt said.
