Jim Wilson is a candidate for Lakeside Park mayor. He will face off against incumbent Paul Markgraf in November.
Wilson is a CPA and business owner.
When asked why he was running, he said, “I’m running for mayor because I believe Lakeside Park can be a better reflection of the community we are: a small town where neighbors respect one another, listen to each other and work together.”
Wilson said that his first priorities if elected would be to rebuild “trust and communication between City Hall and the residents.”
To him, that meant “listening to people, understanding their concerns, and making sure the mayor and council are working together within their proper roles and putting the interests of residents first.”
He said he wanted to ensure residents understood how their city government worked and what each role within it was responsible for.
He added that the city government should “respect private property rights, be responsible with taxpayers’ money and avoid unnecessary restrictions and litigation when reasonable solutions can be found.”
