Jason Lanham is running for Southgate City Council because he said he has quickly grown to love the community.
Lanham said it would be an honor to serve his friends and neighbors and to give the community a voice of integrity and honesty. To help the city of Southgate grow responsibly, for our future generations to enjoy.
Lanham faces Alec Angel, Jackson Curry, Elizabeth Hartman, Aileen R. Okura, Daniel J. Speier, Tommy Whitehead and Phyllis A. Yeager in the Nov. 3 election.
What motivates Lanham to work in public service, he said, is that he enjoys meeting new people and helping people.
“I believe that I have great ability to connect with others and foster genuine relationships,” Lanham said. “Politics at this level require you get into the mud with your neighbors and make a difference, not just stand in the front and try to tell others what you think they should do.”
Should he be elected, Lanham said his first priority will be to keep learning and listening to what the community wants. He said he has been attending meetings regularly for a long time and is a member of the 2026 Campbell County Citizens’ Academy.
