Gary Chinn said he is running for reelection to continue the work he has been doing since he was first elected to Highland Heights City Council in 2006.

Chinn said he has focused on strengthening the city, protecting taxpayers and improving residents’ quality of life.

Chinn faces Deborah Ann Ball, Robert Beckerich, John Braun, Christie Fillhardt, Patricia Hayley, Rene Heinrich and Jesse Hockenbury in the Nov. 3 general election.

“I love this city, and I believe that helping in any way I can makes both our community and ourselves better,” Chinn said. “Serving in public office gives me an opportunity to work with our residents, listen to their concerns, and help make our city an even better place to live.”

Chinn said one accomplishment he is particularly proud of is voting to bring Northern Kentucky University into the city. He said the move has helped Highland Heights maintain a strong financial position, keep property taxes low and provide public works and police services.

Chinn also pointed to his support for expanded park services and new green space. He said he wants to see the Greenscape project at the city building completed and become an addition to the community.

If reelected, Chinn said he wants to continue maintaining the city’s financial position and providing city services while supporting projects that improve the community.

Chinn said another goal is the construction of a pedestrian bridge across U.S. 27, which he believes would improve pedestrian safety and provide a connection for residents.
