Christopher Vaught-Hall was born and raised in Campbell County and is a graduate of Campbell County Schools.
He has been married for seven years and has two children, ages 3 and 4. Hall said he and his family are Catholic, and their faith and community mean a great deal to them.
Hall faces Tom Baldridge, Patrick Blair, Laura Fincher, Stacey Graus, Michael McGrath and Nick Sears in the Nov. 3 general election.
Hall said he is running for city council because he believes Alexandria is at a pivotal point in its growth and needs leadership focused on responsible, well-planned development that protects the community’s long-term integrity. He is now raising his young family in Alexandria, making the city’s future personal to him.
Hall said his interest in public service started early, influenced by his grandfather’s service as a Dayton city council member and mayor. Hall said he has served in local government through planning and zoning, a short term on the Cold Spring City Council and on Boone County-level boards.
“I am running because I want to be a voice for residents who may not always feel heard and to ensure that decisions reflect both citizen input and long-term consequences,” Hall said. “I believe every voice matters, and that local government should be grounded in fairness, facts and accountability to the people it serves.”
Hall said he believes good government requires integrity, fiscal responsibility and a strong understanding of the intended and unintended consequences of decisions. He said public officials should be accessible, open to new ideas and honest, even when the truth is unpopular, because citizens deserve transparency in how decisions are made and how public funds are spent.
Hall said his first priorities as a city council member would be to strengthen citizen input, review growth and future land-use planning and improve transparency in how city decisions are made and communicated.
