Brian Kinross is making another run for Florence City Council.

Kinross, an engineer and longtime Florence resident, became involved in city issues during the debate over the future of the Florence Family Aquatic Center. He helped found NKY Swims, a group formed in 2021 as residents pushed to preserve the facility after the city considered demolishing it and replacing it with a new park.

His involvement in the debate preceded his first run for Florence City Council in 2022. Kinross did not win one of the six seats that year and returned to the ballot in 2024, when he again fell short. He filed for another run in January 2026.

During his prior 2024 campaign, Kinross identified city spending and financial oversight as areas of interest.

Kinross holds a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.

LINK nky contacted Kinross with questions about his background, priorities and reasons for seeking office but did not receive a response before publication.
