Brian Barclay is one of two candidates running to be Crescent Springs’ next mayor, the other being Jeff Smith. Incumbent Mayor Mike Daugherty is not running for reelection.
Barclay works in the insurance sector and formerly served on the Crescent Springs City Council (he is not currently on the council).
“I am running for mayor because Crescent Springs has a strong foundation and real momentum, and I want to help carry that forward,” Barclay said. “Our city has benefited from steady, thoughtful leadership, and my goal is to build on that progress while ensuring we remain fiscally responsible, responsive to residents and well-positioned for future growth.”
Maintaining strong core services and public safety orgs while thinking critically about infrastructure were among his policy priorities. This included, he said, “traffic challenges in the Buttermilk corridor,” which he described as a “regional issue,” not one exclusive to Crescent Springs, even if it was important that Crescent Springs had a seat at the table.
This would inevitably entail “working directly with neighboring municipalities, county, and state partners to drive real, coordinated solutions, not just discussion,” he said.
“Progress for our city depends on collaboration, and I will actively work across agencies and jurisdictions to move projects forward and deliver results,” Barclay said.
