Brant Owens is a lifelong Campbell County resident, Army veteran, financial advisor, husband, father and grandfather.
Owens said his campaign is built around a straightforward idea: strong cities, smart suburbs, and rural conservation. He said Campbell County is changing fast, and residents deserve a government that listens, plans ahead and delivers real results.
Owens faces Republican Tom Lampe in the Nov. 3 general election.
He said public service is about showing up. Owens has chaired neighborhood organizations, served on nonprofit boards and attended local meetings all across Campbell County, because he said good government starts by listening to the people it serves. Owens said that residents deserve a voice in decisions that shape their lives, and he intends to be that voice.
What does a county commissioner do?
“Campbell County deserves more than the bare minimum from its county government,” Owens said. “Too many major decisions get made with little public discussion and near-unanimous votes. I’m running to bring an independent voice to the fiscal court. A voice that listens first, asks hard questions and stays focused on the long-term future of our communities.”
If elected, Owens said his first priority would be rebuilding trust between county government and the communities it serves. He said that looks like more transparency, earlier engagement with cities and residents and ensuring county investments reflect community priorities rather than predetermined outcomes. Owens said before the county chases new projects, it needs to get the basics right.
