Currently, Price runs a firearms training academy that focuses on honing response preparedness and promoting public safety. He told LINK nky that much of his work involves teaching individuals how to respond in emergency situations, taking an active role in their own safety. This includes providing active-shooter and first-aid training for churches and educators.
“I’m very big on public safety, very big on teaching people to take their own safety and be very concerned about it and pay attention and protect themselves,” he told LINK nky.
Price said his decision to run for constable stemmed from a budding interest in politics spurred by his granddaughter, whom he wanted to make proud. Furthermore, Price said he was driven by concerns about how the office is used and perceived, acknowledging that constables are often overlooked and underutilized.
If elected, Price said he wants to protect the integrity of the office. Based on his experience in firearms training and his knowledge of safety protocols, Price believes he has developed the necessary leadership skills for the role.
As a Boone County native, Price said he takes great pride in where he’s from, in addition to the county’s public safety institutions such as the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.
