Angie Cable is seeking a second term on Florence City Council after first winning a seat on the six-member body back in 2024.

Before taking office, Cable was active in several community organizations and local issues. Cable has been involved in community assistance efforts through Light of Torch, a Florence-based nonprofit focused on connecting residents with food, clothing and other resources.

Cable’s civic involvement eventually expanded into city government. Before running for council, Cable advocated for Florence to reconsider its restrictions on residents keeping backyard chickens, an issue that helped draw her further into city government.

Since joining the council, Cable has continued to focus on how city regulations affect residents and property owners. In 2025, she raised concerns about proposed restrictions on residential solar panels, arguing some of the requirements would make it more difficult for homeowners to install them.

Cable has also identified housing affordability, homelessness, traffic, as well as support for locally owned businesses as some of the central issues of her campaign.

LINK nky contacted Cable with questions about their background, priorities and reasons for seeking office but did not receive a response before publication.
