Melissa Strange, a Democrat originally from Villa Hills, announced Monday morning her run for Kentucky’s House of Representatives’ 4th District seat, which is currently occupied by Thomas Massie, a Republican who has held the seat since 2012.

“People are exhausted by the hate and division in our current politics,” Strange said in a campaign press release. “They deserve responsive government that works for them. They want leaders who listen and do their jobs instead of hurling insults.”

Strange lives in Erlanger with her husband and two sons. She’s a supply chain professional with 27 years of experience in the sector. She has a bachelor’s degree in international studies from NKU and an MBA from Thomas More. She’s also served as a volunteer academic team coach for 16 years.

Federal fundraising data on her campaign had not yet been processed at the time of her campaign announcement. We will update this brief once the information is available.

“Our politics focus too much on the politicians and have forgotten about the people,” Strange continued in the release. “Effective leadership requires working with everyone, regardless of party, to do what is best for our citizens. We need leaders who will put politics aside and represent the interests of ALL people in order to improve their lives, move our country forward and build a stronger future for everyone.”
