The BLINK Lights and Arts Show is returning to Northern Kentucky as locals and tourists alike wait in anticipation. BLINK is the largest light and art show in North America. In 2019, BLINK drew over 1.3 million visitors when it was last held in both Cincinnati and Covington.
WHO
BLINK is organized by Justin Brookhart, the festival’s executive director. It’s curated by its executive partners such as the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, AGAR, and the Haile Foundation, and produced in conjunction with its partners ArtWorks, Cincy Nice and ish.
WHAT
The festival features 101 installations in both Cincinnati and Covington. It’s the largest immersive event in the United States. The show will feature 24 large-scale projection mappings, 17 new murals by national and international artists, interactive light sculptures and diverse entertainment.
A drone light show, which will feature 300 drones for a 10-minute display, is a new addition to the festival. The show will happen Smale Riverfront Park in Cincinnati and should be visible for BLINK attendees in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
WHEN
BLINK will take place on Oct. 13 through 16, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are not needed for entrance.
WHERE
BLINK will scale 30 city blocks in both Cincinnati and Covington. Below is the map of BLINK, officially released by the festival last week, which details each installation, exhibit and vendor in the festival.
TRANSPORTATION
BLINK attendees with have a variety of options for transportation into the festival.
Metro and TANK will offer fare-free rides beginning at 6 p.m. from Oct. 13 to 16. City streets in both Cincinnati and Covington covered by the festival’s blueprint will be closed.
Four park and rides will be located at:
- Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, 3520 Central Parkway.
- Cincinnati Public Schools Board of Education, 2651 Burnet Avenue.
- University of Cincinnati Digital Futures Building, 3044 Reading Road.
- Northern Kentucky University, 1 Louie B. Nunn Drive.
