Cincinnati-based architecture firm Hub + Weber has been chosen to head up the concept development of the historic Ludlow Rail Yard Storehouse, according to an announcement from the Ludlow Heritage Museum, which has partnered with Norfolk Southern Railway to restore the building.
Once restored, the museum hopes to move its operations and exhibitions into the storehouse.
“The conceptual renderings will include architectural and landscaping views that capture both the industrial legacy and the community-centered vision for the site,” according to the Heritage Museum’s press release. “The Ludlow Rail Yard Storehouse, a cornerstone of the city’s 19th-century rail operations, is being re-envisioned as a dynamic cultural and educational space celebrating the region’s railroad history.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Hub+Weber,” said Andrew Wartman, president of the
museum. “Their experience in historic preservation and adaptive reuse aligns perfectly with our mission to honor Ludlow’s past while creating a vibrant future for our community.”
The renderings are slated to be released to the public early 2026. You can see pictures of the storehouse, learn about the museum’s programs and donate to the rehabilitation efforts at ludlowheritagemuseum.com.
