The City of Erlanger recently unveiled a new mural that it hopes will become a new landmark as part of the first major phase of the Eons adventure park project.

Eons Adventure Park is a multifaceted park project spanning over 1,000 acres of urban woodland. It will include 20 miles of mountain biking trails, a network of tree canopy trails and various other amenities.

The mural, which was painted by the Dixie Heights High School art club, is located on a retaining wall at a former concrete plant site at 645 Erlanger Rd., near Donaldson Highway and just west of I-75. According to a city press release, the mural took approximately 60 hours to complete.

The site is scheduled to become a dog park within the larger Eons Park project and is expected to open in spring 2026.

“It’s important to make a difference in our community using art. I believe that’s a lesson our students can learn through this initiative,” Dixie Heights Art Club advisor Cierra Blevins said in the release. “I’ve had all kinds of students come up to me and said they’ve come out with their family after picking up milkshakes just to be together and admire their work. It wasn’t a difficult process. It just took a lot of time.”

Erlanger Public Works Director Kevin Quinn said the mural will serve as a “trailhead” and point of entry to the park once built.

“The dog park mural will be a beautiful trailhead for the entire park system,” Quinn said. “I can see these students from Dixie Heights bringing their families to this spot for years, feeling fulfilled that they had a part of such a special project.”

Erlanger Mayor Jessica Fette said she’s encouraged by the level of community involvement sparked by the mural project.

“Schools are approaching us. People want to be involved in this wonderful project,” Fette said. “Eons is doing everything that I could want it to do, that the community could want it to do. It is truly bringing people together. I absolutely love the mural and am so grateful for the vibrance it will add to our community.”
