Kenton County agreed to a five-year contract extension with a company specializing in golf course management services.

On Tuesday, the Kenton County Fiscal Court agreed with Troon Golf to continue managing Kenton County Golf Courses for five more years. There are two courses under the Kenton County Golf Courses umbrella: The Pioneer and The Willows in Independence.

“This has been a win-win for everyone involved,” Commissioner Jon Draud said during the meeting.

Previously, Kenton County Golf Course was managed by Billy Casper Golf, which rebranded as Indigo Sports in 2020. Indigo Sports was acquired by Troon in 2021. Kenton County and Billy Casper Golf originally reached a management agreement in 2019.

“We’ve had a great relationship for five years and I look forward to the next five hopefully,” Troon Vice President of Operations Nick Bednar told the court.
