We now know which residential properties in Northern Kentucky sold in December 2025.

How do we know?

Homeowners must register with the county anytime they buy or sell a property. That information is all public record, so we can use the information to track trends and figures for Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties. Other sources of information, such as data from realtor organizations and government data tracking projects, can also paint a picture of real estate trends over time.

There was a combined total of 495 residential properties sold in Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties in December.

The most expensive property listed for residential use in the region was bought in Alexandria for about $4.4 million by the City of Alexandria as part of the ongoing development of a Kroger Marketplace. County property records show the property to be in the care of the Kroger company, even though the city is listed as the owner on paper. The city approved bonding for the property (which is why it’s listed as the owner) in October. The land on which the property sits is still zoned for residential use, even though a store is slated to go there.

Besides the Kroger property, the most expensive property in NKY was sold in Hebron for $1,364,365. The cheapest property, on the other hand, sold for nothing. In spite of the city-purchased outlier in Alexandria, Campbell County is the most affordable county in the region overall, at least when it comes to purchasing housing.

Most properties in the region fell in the $200,000 to $300,000 price range, which comports with housing trends that LINK nky has reported on in the past. Data from Northern Kentucky Association of Realtors put the median sale price for 2025 at about $300,000, higher than the preceding year’s median of $282,000. These figures are, admittedly, broad since the association’s service area is larger than Boone, Kenton and Campbell, but median sales prices in those three counties all hovered around that $300,000 mark.

This increase reflects broader national trends. Purchase prices for homes are still steadily increasing across the country, according to the U.S. Federal Housing Finance Agency. The agency has currently published data through April 2025.
