Levi Strauss’s Hebron facility is set to close, affecting nearly 350 employees.

The San Francisco-based apparel company notified the Kentucky Department of Workforce Development in a letter dated June 16. The Hebron site, located at 3750 N. Bend Road, operated as a distribution center.

The closure will result in the layoff of 346 plant workers, as noted in the WARN Notice Report. Levi Strauss’s letter did not specify a reason for the closure. The layoffs are expected to commence around August 18.

The letter noted that some of the facility’s employees are represented by Workers United Local 2550, a labor union that’s affiliated with the Service Employees International Union.

Union-represented employees possess bumping rights, which allow more senior staff to displace less senior employees during layoffs or restructuring, thereby retaining their positions. Employees not represented by the union do not have these rights.
