Aviatra Accelerators, a Covington-based entrepreneurship nonprofit that supports women-owned startups and small businesses, celebrated the winners of its annual Flight Night competition.
Flight Night is an annual pitch competition that highlights women entrepreneurs from Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky who participated in Aviatra’s Momentum Accelerator. The 12-week program coaches founders on how to strengthen their ventures and accelerate overall growth. The event took place on Thursday, Sept. 10, at the 20th Century Theater in Cincinnati’s Oakley neighborhood.
Nedra Ward, founder of Petty Waggin’ Pet Taxi, was crowned as the winner of the pitch competition, taking home the $1,000 grand prize. Megan Buldain, founder of Furever Friends Rescue and Wellness, received the fan favorite award from the audience.
Aviatra also announced the recipients of its Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, recognizing six outstanding women business owners across six categories.
This year’s recipients were:
- Jahnay Harris Binion: Young Entrepreneur of the Year
- Kisiah Cole: Veteran Entrepreneur of the Year
- Alison Fienning: Health Entrepreneur of the Year
- Maurissa D’Angelo: Tech Entrepreneur of the Year
- Britteny Kane: Social Impact Entrepreneur of the Year
- Kelly Kolar: Woman Entrepreneur of the Year
