The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for its annual Leadership Alumni Awards.
The awards are the Ruth A. Eger Leader of Distinction Award, the Leadership Volunteer Impact Award, the Gary Beatrice Leadership Award and the R. Casey Barach Leadership Award for Entrepreneurship.
“Every year, we look forward to this opportunity to honor and celebrate some of our Leadership program alumni who are making an incredible impact in the region,” NKY Chamber Director of Leadership Ann Marie Whelan said in a news release. “The goal of our Leadership programs is to grow, connect, encourage and challenge leaders, and we are so proud to see our alumni taking their experiences in these programs and making a difference in the workplace and in the community.”
The Ruth A. Eger Leader of Distinction Award
The Ruth A. Eger Leader of Distinction Award is presented to a Leadership NKY alumnus or alumna who has made meaningful and notable contributions toward making our region “a better place to live, work and play.” Additionally, they have been highly effective in creating positive change in the region.
Criteria for selection of the Ruth A. Eger Leader of Distinction Award:
- Making meaningful and lasting contributions to the community
- Valuing and honoring diverse experiences and perspectives
- Demonstrating innovation and creativity
- Serving as a role model and mentor for others and demonstrates a high level of professionalism
- Demonstrates a significant number of years of effective leadership in the community serving on boards and advancing the region’s vitality and economic/social well-being.
The Leadership Volunteer Impact Award
The Leadership Volunteer Impact Award is presented to an alumnus or alumna of Leadership NKY or Encounter NKY who generously shares their time and remain accessible to others.
Criteria for selection of the Leadership Volunteer Impact Award:
- Values and honors diverse experiences and perspectives
- Advances access and opportunity for others
- Serves as a role model for others and demonstrates a high level of professionalism
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and its leadership programs.
The Gary Beatrice Leadership Award
The Gary Beatrice Leadership Award is given to a Regional Youth Leadership alumnus or volunteer who provides guidance and expertise to help others develop leadership skills.
Criteria for selection of the Gary Beatrice Leadership Award:
- Demonstrates a commitment to personal and professional growth
- Willingness to share their knowledge, skills and expertise with mentees
- The nominee effectively communicates the purpose, principles, values and impact of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce leadership programs, specifically Regional Youth Leadership.
The R. Casey Barach Leadership Award for Entrepreneurship
The R. Casey Barach Leadership Award for Entrepreneurship, named in honor of R. Casey Barach, a pioneer of entrepreneurship and innovation in Northern Kentucky, is given to a leadership program alumnus(a) who has made meaningful lifelong contributions to promoting and supporting the entrepreneurial spirit in the region, and helping others start, grow and sustain their ventures.
Criteria for selection of the R. Casey Barach Leadership Award for Entrepreneurship:
- Is a graduate of Leadership Northern Kentucky
- Is an entrepreneur or has contributed materially to the entrepreneur community
- Has used business ownership to make meaningful and positive contributions to the region
- Serves as a role model and mentor for other entrepreneurs
- Demonstrates a high level of entrepreneurial spirit, leadership, perseverance and creativity necessary for long-term business success
- Has been effective in achieving positive change
- Their work has a measurable record of accomplishment over time.
Nominations for all four awards are open to alumni of Encounter NKY, Leadership NKY and Regional Youth Leadership. Anyone may submit a nomination by visiting NKYChamber.com/AlumniAwards. The deadline for nominations is May 1.
The award recipients will be honored at the Leadership Alumni Awards Celebration on Thursday, Aug. 27, at the Receptions Banquet and Conference Center in Erlanger.
