A post on Yuca’s Facebook page Friday announced the Latin-inspired eatery will close once their lease ends at the end of the month.
While weekends have always brought in good business, the post said, traffic during the week hasn’t picked up enough to justify staying open.
“This has led us to the hard decision that we will not be renewing our lease on Fairfield,” the post says. “We’re heartbroken to leave, but the economics simply won’t support the business.”
Yuca’s most popular dishes will still be served at Cedar and Pike St., which are owned by the same restaurant group, while the owners look for new locations for Yuca.
Yuca’s last day will be Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Thank you for a great 5 years!” the post concludes.
Yuca is located at 700 Fairfield Ave.
