Rotek Inc., a subsidiary of German industrial conglomerate ThyssenKrupp, will close its Florence-based manufacturing facility in 2026.

A total of 77 employees at Rotek’s facility at 8085 Production Drive in Florence will be laid off. The closure will occur in stages, starting on Feb. 13 and concluding by Sept. 16.

According to its website, the facility produces slewing bearings, including ball and roller slewing bearings and wire-race slewing bearings, which are used in the manufacturing of cranes, wind turbines, and tunneling machines, among others.

ThyssenKrupp notified the Kentucky Career Center’s Office of Employer & Apprenticeship Services of the impending closure through a letter published by the state’s WARN Notice System.

In the letter, a representative from ThyssenKrupp said the company was consolidating its operations in Florence and Aurora, Ohio.
