The North Central Area Health Education Center will host its annual job fair at Northern Kentucky University in September.
The event, which showcases various health care employers in the region and teaches students about careers in health care, drew 773 students from 27 local high schools last year.
The center is one of eight regional healthcare centers in Kentucky that aim to “increase healthcare access to rural and other medically underserved areas,” per a press release from the center.
“The showcase offers high school students the opportunity to learn about over 30 different health careers, including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing and many others,” according to the release. “Students can talk to educators, practitioners and current health professions students about their job duties, salary levels, education needed and job outlook.”
Employers and organizations who plan to attend the event include the Northern Kentucky Public Health Department, St. Elizabeth Healthcare and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Educators from NKU, Gateway, UK and Mount St. Joseph University will also participate.
The event is set for Sept. 30 at the NKU Student Union. Learn at northcentralkyahec.org.
