Alfio’s Buon Cibo announced the restaurant would be expanding into Covington.
The Hyde Park-based Italian eatery is opening a second restaurant at 701 Madison Ave, the space formerly occupied by Rich’s Proper. Rich’s announced its permanent closure in December 2024.
Alfio’s leadership detailed their intentions in a Facebook post, which earmarked June as the opening date for the second concept.
“This June, we’ll be opening a second concept — this time, across the river in Covington. It’s a project born from late-night ideas, years of shared service, and the kind of bond you only build over thousands of dinner rushes and clinked glasses,” read the post.
Alphio’s is a unique fusion of Italian and Argentine flavors. Its menu boasts several hand-cut steaks, fresh pasta, empanadas, and a diverse selection of wines.
