Camco Chemical announced the purchase of an 18-acre property in Florence with plans to expand its footprint in Northern Kentucky.

Camco provides chemical manufacturing, blending, packaging and distribution services to several industrial sectors, including automotive and agriculture. The company’s purchase, finalized on Dec. 6, included the property and a 170,000-square-foot building at 7125 Industrial Road in Florence.

“The acquisition of the property and the additional investments being made will make 7125 Industrial Road a core part of Camco’s vision to provide product and brand owners the services they need to launch, grow and sustain products in the marketplace from material sourcing, manufacturing, primary and secondary packaging, order fulfillment and logistics,” CEO Adrian Hothem said in the release.

Renovations to the building will begin immediately, per the release. Exterior renovations include adding more dock doors, exterior concrete and blacktop to improve truck and trailer access. The interior will be retrofitted to serve modern distribution, fulfillment and secondary packaging operations. The project’s contractor is Crescent Springs-based Furlong Building.

Upon completion, Camco will use 85,000 square feet of the renovated building, with the remaining space available for lease. Property improvements and renovations are expected to be complete by the spring of 2025

“It’s exciting to see a locally-owned company on a high-growth trajectory creating new jobs and prosperity in our community,” BE NKY Growth Partnership CEO Lee Crume said in the release. “Northern Kentucky’s workforce and geographic location are critical factors in our region’s economic progress.”

Camco already boasts a strong presence around the region with an existing 40-acre, three-building headquarters in the Northern Kentucky Industrial Park off Holton Drive in Florence.

In September, Camco announced it would invest $3 million to upgrade its Florence campus, further increasing manufacturing production.
