An Edgewood man — arrested in January on charges that he possessed video showing sexual performance by a minor — was indicted last week, along with his girlfriend, for alleged criminal abuse of the girlfriend’s son and sexual abuse of the girlfriend’s daughter, Kenton County Commonwealth Attorney Rob Sanders said.

Both children are minors.

LINK nky is not identifying Christopher Whittaker’s girlfriend in order to protect the identities of the children.

Whittaker and his girlfriend are charged with three counts of criminal abuse in the first degree in October and November of 2016, court records show.

The defendants, records state, “intentionally abused another person or permitted another person of whom they had actual custody to be abused and thereby caused serious physical injury or placed him in a situation that may cause him serious physical injury or caused torture, cruel confinement or cruel punishment of the victim,” who was under 12 at the time.

Then, court records show, in January and April of 2017, Whittaker and his girlfriend allegedly “produced, directed or promoted any performance which includes sexual conduct by … a minor less than sixteen (16) years old at the time of the prohibited activity.”

Whittaker was indicted on an additional 86 counts, which include promoting sexual performance by a minor, sexual abuse, sodomy, rape, torture of a dog or cat, and possession of a matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, between October 2018 and October 2021.

Whittaker is due back in court on April 18.
