High school athlete Taylor Preston recently distributed $1,000 of her prize money to five local schools to support athletic programs. 

Preston is a 6-foot-2 volleyball player at St. Henry District High School. She was crowned the Gatorade Kentucky Player of the Year, which comes with a $1,000 grant to a national or local organization of the athlete’s choice. The grant is to help develop programs for young athletes to realize the benefits of playing sports. 

Preston delivered a $200 check to her high school, St. Henry District High, as well as Mary Queen of Heaven, St. Timothy Catholic School, St. Paul Catholic School, and Immaculate Heart of Mary school. 

After high school, the senior plans to attend college and has signed a letter of intent with the University of Oklahoma.
