The Fort Thomas Independent Schools participated in an event, The 2013 Rolling Thunder, observing war veterans.
As the convoy passed by each elementary school a POW / MIA flag will be hoisted into the sky, and will remain up through the Memorial Day weekend.
The parade of war veterans started at the Campbell County YMCA at 8:00am and will proceeded to pass by each school, ending at the Peace Bell in Newport.
The event was organized by Highlands High School junior Eric Hempleman, a VA Hospital volunteer.
Many came out to honor our nations bravest as The Rolling Thunder parade passed through the city making their way to an elementary school of their choosing. Â The only requirement was unbridled patriotism, and that was no doubt present.Â
