After 40 years of early education for Fort Thomas children, Wise Owl Pre-School’s future is murky. The school suddenly and abruptly sent a letter today to families with children currently enrolled, informing them that the First Baptist Church is no longer offering their pre-school outreach program.

There are 115 children currently enrolled at Wise Owl and many other children were not able to matriculate due to the waiting list at the school being full.

We have reached out to First Baptist Church for comment. Our own, Mama on a Budget (sponsored by Blue Marble Books), who has had a child at Wise Owl for the past two years, will also provide commentary on this situation.

This story will be updated. Here is the letter, dated 11-4-13, sent to parents:

Dear Families,

We would like to inform you of a recent development and important news concerning the Wise Owl Pre-School. After 40 years, the First Baptist Church of Fort Thomas has chosen to discontinue their outreach program of the Wise Owl Pre-School. While we are saddened by this decision, and have valued our partnership with the church, we are optimistic about the futures.

We are carefully considering several locations in Fort Thomas, beginning with the new school year 2014-2015.

Our staff has always been, and will continue to be, dedicated and devoted to your pre-school age children. These experienced and qualified teachers are 100% committed to maintain this excellent program.

We wanted our families to hear this news from us first, before any misinformation circulated. We are excited and positive about the future of the Wise Own Pre-School. The best is yet to come!

Sincerely,

The Wise Owl Staff
