Covington, KY — October 20, 2026 – Horizon Community Foundation of Northern Kentucky
is pleased to announce the establishment of an endowment fund supporting CASA of the
Northern Bluegrass Region and its mission to advocate for children who have experienced abuse
or neglect.

The fund will provide long-term support for CASA’s work recruiting, training, and supporting
dedicated volunteers who advocate for children’s best interests throughout the family court
system. By creating a lasting source of funding, the endowment will help sustain CASA’s
mission and strengthen its ability to expand its reach to more children in need of a consistent,
caring advocate.

CASA of the Northern Bluegrass Region serves children across nine counties: Boone, Campbell,
Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Kenton, Owen, and Pendleton. CASA volunteers build
relationships with the children they serve, communicate with the individuals involved in their
lives, and help ensure each child’s needs and best interests are heard throughout their case. In
2025, CASA served 260 children with the support of 90 active volunteers, who contributed 4,210
hours of direct service, a 28% increase over the previous year.

“Every child deserves someone who shows up, listens, and speaks up for their best interests. This
endowment is an investment in making sure CASA can continue to be that consistent presence
for children in our community for years to come. We are grateful for this generous gift and the
lasting support it creates for our mission,” said Nicky Jeffries, executive director of CASA of the
Northern Bluegrass Region.

“Endowments are a powerful way to ensure the organizations serving our communities have the
resources they need to make a lasting difference. We are proud to partner with CASA of the
Northern Bluegrass Region to help sustain its vital advocacy for children and support a future
where more children have someone standing up for their best interests,” said Nancy Grayson,
President and CEO of Horizon Community Foundation of Northern Kentucky.

Through its endowment program, Horizon Community Foundation helps donors establish lasting
charitable resources that support the causes and organizations strengthening Northern Kentucky.
These funds provide a foundation for long-term impact, helping local nonprofits sustain their
missions and serve the community for generations to come.
