Northern Kentucky University’s residence halls, Callahan Hall and Northern Terrace, are for sale.

The university confirmed with LINK nky that the two vacant residence halls are up for sale. The listings follow an email to residents of NKU’s East Residential Village on March 20, informing them that their current housing option would no longer be available starting Fall 2026, as reported by The Northerner.

“NKU closed Callahan Hall and Northern Terrace earlier this year as part of a planned consolidation of student housing,” NKU said in a statement sent to LINK nky. “Now, NKU is excited to work with 3CRE to make this unique property available for re-use by senior living and multifamily developers, helping to fill an important housing need in Northern Kentucky.”

The closures were driven by the residential halls’ occupancy rates at the time: Northern Terrace was below 40%, and Callahan was about 50%, according to Brandon Thompson, NKU’s VP of Student Affairs.
