St. Vincent de Paul broke ground on its new headquarters in Erlanger on Tuesday. The new HQ is the result of a multi-million-dollar capital campaign started earlier this year.
“For more than a century, St. Vincent de Paul has been serving our neighbors throughout Northern Kentucky,” said Erlanger Mayor Jessica Fette. “For many years, Erlanger has been blessed to be part of that mission and to serve as the home of its existing facility. Today marks a tremendous milestone in that long and meaningful relationship as we break ground on a new campus that will allow this ministry to serve even more people for generations to come.”
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, named for the priest born in 1581, was founded in the 1800s and has operated in Northern Kentucky since 1911. The organization is known for its donation collections, thrift stores and various other services to the poor, which include everything from rent and utility assistance, homelessness services, food pantries and even low-interest microloans.
The new building is slated to be over 40,000 square feet and will feature several new amenities. These include a new welcome and outreach center, a chapel, private meeting rooms, a dedicated donation drop-off, expanded parking, an expanded call center, and an expanded food pantry. It is set to replace the society’s current HQ, also in Elranger, which was originally designed as a warehouse. The new HQ will be located on 2864 Crescent Springs Road, which is about a mile away from the current HQ.
Society staff members are expected to begin moving into the new facility in the fall of next year after construction is complete. It’s expected to open to the public in early 2028.
