The Elsmere City Council OK’ed a bid for a roughly five-block sidewalk resurfacing project on Garvey Avenue Tuesday night.
The work will run from the intersection of Shaw Avenue and Garvey Avenue to the intersection of Florence Court and Garvey Avenue.
The project is unrelated to the Garvey Avenue Bridge, which recently had its weight rating downgraded.
Two companies bid on the project, and the lowest bid came from Fort Thomas-based TMS Construction, Inc. at $237,549, according to city documents. Public Works Director Chris Zerhusen told the council the department had sought grant funding for the project. The department hopes to start on the project sometime next month.
