The Northern Kentucky University Board of Regents announced the election of three new leaders ahead of the fall semester.
The board of regents, the governing body responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and policies of NKU, recently conducted its annual election to appoint officers for the upcoming term.
Regent Kara Williams: NKU class of 2001, founder of The Marketing Collective and former NKU Board of Regents vice chair, will serve as chair.
Since graduating from NKU, Williams has served in a number of roles at the university, including vice chair of the board of regents, 14 years on the board of directors of the Northern Kentucky University Foundation, and chair of the Membership and Executive Committees.
Regent Brad Zapp: Co-founder and managing partner of Connetic Ventures, founder and managing member of ZH Holdings, co-founder of Wendal, will serve as vice chair.
Regent Ashley Himes: NKU class of 2003, 2007, 2009, student services coordinator for the Northern Kentucky Cooperative for Educational Services, will continue to serve as secretary.
The board also welcomes Kyah Smith as the new student regent for the upcoming school year. Smith is the student government association president, a Cincinnati native and is a senior studying accounting in the Haile College of Business.
