An Independence man died Monday night following a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of KY 536 and Decoursey Road, police said.
The Kenton County Police Department responded to KY 536 and Decoursey Road on June 23 at 11:21 p.m. on the report of a single vehicle accident with injuries. Joshua Thomas Rawe, age 42 of Independence, was the single occupant of a black Chevy Silverado.
According to police, Rawe was traveling westbound on Kentucky Route 536. His vehicle crossed over the railroad crossing and continued across Decoursey Pike where it struck a dirt embankment head on.
The Piner Fire Department, Independence Fire District and Air Care responded to render aid. Rawe was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no other vehicles involved and no property damage. There are no criminal charges pending.
