March 25, 2026 – Covington, KY: Local trail advocates, outdoor enthusiasts, and community partners will come together at Devou Park this spring for the 2026 Party in the Park, hosted by the Devou Park Trail Collective (DPTC). The fundraising event, scheduled for April 18, supports the park’s natural surface trail system, which serves as a regional asset for healthy outdoor recreation and economic vitality.
Funds raised during the party will support ongoing trail maintenance, wayfinding signage, and future construction of new connectors to improve access from surrounding neighborhoods. Last year’s event raised nearly $20,000 in net revenue for this effort, helping both tri-state residents and visitors experience Devou Park’s wooded hillsides.
“Natural surface trails are one of the most inclusive forms of outdoor recreation we can invest in,” said Chad Irey, DPTC Board Chairperson. “Whether you enjoy hiking, trail running, mountain biking, or just unwinding in nature, 16 miles of natural surface trails are ready to be explored in Devou Park.”
While Devou Park is managed by the City of Covington and funded in part by revenue from park entities like the Drees Pavilion and the Devou Golf and Event Center, the natural surface trails – visited annually by thousands of trail users – are privately maintained and funded through the work of the DPTC and their network of volunteers and supporters. So, fundraisers like Party in the Park are critical to the mission of DPTC.
Attendees will hear from DPTC board members and community leaders about upcoming plans for the trail system. The event also includes dinner and dessert stations, music, and a silent auction that supporters can participate in even if they are not in attendance.
