The driver of a car that fell from the Camp Ernst Bridge into Gunpowder Creek in Burlington has been transported to UC Medical Center after Boone County first responders from several departments successfully removed them from the car.
Departments from Burlington, Florence, Union, Hebron and the county sheriff’s office responded to a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday, according to a social media post from the Burlington Fire Protection District. Upon removal from the vehicle, the driver was airlifted to the hospital.
The announcement did not reveal information about the driver’s identity or the circumstances of the crash. Check out some photos of the operation below.
