The Kentucky Dragon Boat Festival is returning to AJ Jolly Lake on Sept. 6.
The family-friendly event draws local, national and international teams for a day on the water, beginning at 8 a.m. Since 2010, the Kentucky Dragon Boat Festival has been presented by Paddling for Cancer Awareness and hosted by the Kentucky Thorough-Breasts Dragon Boat Racing Team (a growing community of cancer survivors and supporters.)
The details:
- Each team gets a practice session before race day
- All equipment, steersperson and drummer provided
- Three 250-meter heats per team
- Awards for the top finishers
- A rose ceremony honoring breast cancer survivors and remembering those we’ve lost.
