Longtime Kentucky State Rep. William Irvin Donnermeyer Sr., known as “Bill,” died on Aug. 25 at age 100.
Donnermeyer died at Carmel Manor Nursing Home in Fort Thomas. He was a former Bellevue City Council member and was elected as a Kentucky state representative, where he represented the 68th District in 1969, a position he served in for 25 years.
He was also a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War, where he served as a radioman.
In 1986, Bellevue named “Donnermeyer Drive” in the city after him for his years of service.
Donnermeyer was born in Dayton on Sept. 19, 1924. He celebrated his 100th birthday last year.
