Covington-based Aviatra Accelerators, an entrepreneurial nonprofit that supports women-owned startups and small businesses, is hosting its annual Flight Night in early September.
Aviatra will host its annual Flight Night event on Sept. 4 at the 20th Century Theater in Cincinnati’s Oakley neighborhood.
The program will recognize finalists for Aviatra’s second annual Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, presented in partnership with the Cincinnati Business Courier. Winners will be announced in five categories:
- Woman Entrepreneur of the Year: Kiersten Beatty of Elevate Creative Co., Shannan Boyer of Scooter Media, Rachel DesRochers of The Gratitude Collective.
- Woman Health Entrepreneur of the Year: Dr. Sarah Cash Crawford of Anchor Wellness Center, Tiffany Hawthorne of A Servant’s Heart Training Institute, Beth Hinden of Sanctuary of Integration Wellness Center.
- Woman Tech Entrepreneur of the Year: Kerry Taft of Taft Systems, Katie Trauth Taylor of Narratize, Amy Vaughn of Together Digital.
- Young Woman Entrepreneur of the Year: Amelia Wares of TissuTrak, Noelle Scheper of Motiv.
- Philanthropic Woman Entrepreneur of the Year: T. Renae Banks of Bankable Properties, Rachel DesRochers of The Gratitude Collective, Kendra Ramirez of KR Digital
Judges for the awards included Jill McCauley of the African American Chamber of Commerce, Holly Nibert of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Jeni Al Barani of Miami University, Karla Boldery of he Latina Entrepreneurship Academy, and Shonda Sullivan of Advanced HR Services.
The event will also feature a pitch competition for women-owned businesses that recently completed Aviatra’s 12-week Momentum Accelerator program. The winner will receive a $1,000 prize.
