Highland Heights shared an update on the construction of the city’s nature trail and pickleball courts at Tuesday night’s city council meeting.
According to City Administrator Michael Giffen, work on the additions to the city’s park began last week and is expected to be complete by this fall.
“The intention behind the entire greenspace renovation project is to bring more people up to our city building campus, as we see it as a central gathering space for all of our residents,” Giffen said. “The nature trail and pickleball courts are just the first phase in a multi-phase project to bring additional amenities to this site and to improve connectivity, so we are looking forward to seeing these plans come to life.”
Giffen shared what these additions mean for Highland Heights.
“We have a very diverse population, with a wide range of age brackets and a wide range of interests,” he said. “Having all of this open space at our site gives us a blank canvas to explore ways to incorporate amenities that will appeal to our diverse population. With the development of this space, it also means that we can start to try out different types of events and activities throughout the year to further engage the public.”
