The Campbell County Fiscal Court recognized Jim Pfister on Wednesday for his retirement from the volunteers in a police service program.

The Campbell County Police Department uses volunteers for tasks such as delivering documents and driving police cars back and forth for maintenance. Volunteers help with things that aren’t directly law enforcement duties, which the department said saves time and money versus having officers do those things.

Pfister has been with the program since July 2013.

“We greatly appreciate the countless hours you have devoted to helping us serve the citizens of Campbell County,” Campbell County Police Chief Craig Sorrell read from Pfister’s certificate. “Careful attention, thoughtful interactions and willingness to assist in all matters, great and small, have significantly contributed to the success of our agency.”

To inquire about volunteering for the program, contact the Campbell County Police Department at (859) 547-3100 or via email at ccpolice@campbellcountyky.gov.
