The community asked us questions about the upcoming general election on Nov. 5 via LINK nky’s election question form, and we’ve got answers for you.
Anyone with a question about the upcoming election can submit a question to us here.
Q: Can anyone vote early? Where are early voting precincts?
Kentucky offers early voting which is called early in-person, no excuse absentee voting. You can choose whether to vote on election day or during the in-person absentee voting period.
Anyone can vote in person before election day between Oct. 31 and Nov. 2. Dates and times may vary by location.
In-person absentee voting locations may be different from where you vote on Election Day. Check Kentucky’s site to find where to vote early.
Q: Where do I vote at for the excused absentee voting? How do we get an excused early voting privilege?
Eligible Kentuckians were able to request an absentee ballot through Oct. 22.
Follow the instructions in your absentee ballot packet to learn where to mail your ballot. Alternatively, you can drop off your completed absentee ballot or cast your absentee ballot in person at select locations in the county of your permanent residence.
Check out the links below to learn about absentee ballot drop-off locations and places where you can cast an absentee ballot in person.
Q: Information on the city of Taylor Mill City Commission race
Anyone looking for information on their local contested races in Boone, Kenton or Campbell counties can find that on LINK nky’s local election guide.
Q: I recently moved, and the address on my license doesn’t match my mailing address. (Same town.) Am I still able to vote without an issue?
If you’ve moved elsewhere within your current state, you must update your voter registration with your new address, according to FindLaw.com.
Even if you’ve only moved to a different unit in the same apartment building, you’ll still need to re-register. If anything at all about your permanent address has changed, you will have to update your registration.
The registration deadline for the 2024 General Election was Oct. 7, at 4 p.m.
Q: Where can we get an election ballot for who is running in republican races.

Q: Is there a homestead amendment on ballot
No. Kentucky will see two amendments on the ballot this election.
The first is titled the Citizenship Requirement for Voting Amendment, or Kentucky Constitutional Amendment 1, the state’s Constitution would be changed to say that only U.S. citizens could vote in elections in the state, according to Ballotpedia. This also includes elections for school trustees and local school board elections.

The second is Kentucky Constitutional Amendment 2, otherwise titled the Allow State Funding for Non-Public Education Amendment, would add language to the state’s constitution that could enable the General Assembly to provide public funding for non-public education.
