Mineola Pike in Boone County will be closed on Sunday, Aug. 11, as part of an ongoing widening project.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 6 said road crews will work at the intersection of Mineola Pike and Olympic Boulevard between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.
This work will include raising the grade of the intersection. Drivers should anticipate overnight lane closures. Flaggers will be used near the intersection to guide traffic safely through the work zone. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. Access to businesses and city/county roads will be maintained.
Drivers are advised to watch for road crews and equipment in the work zone and exercise caution when traveling near it. Travelers heading toward the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in Hebron should give themselves extra time during the evening/overnight hours.
These traffic impacts are part of the ongoing Mineola Pike improvement project, which kicked off in August of 2022. The project, from Donaldson Highway to I-275, seeks to widen the one-mile road to five lanes with a curb and gutter. Additionally, a sidewalk will be constructed on the south side of the road, along with a ten-foot-wide multi-use path for bicyclists and pedestrians.
Barring bad weather, KYTC officials expect the work to be completed Aug. 14 at 6 a.m.
