The Campbell County Fiscal Court adopted its $68.7 million budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year on June 5.
Campbell County Finance Director Laura Lewis presented the budget at the May 15 meeting. The new budget is an almost $12 million increase from fiscal year 2023-2024. Lewis said that the cause of the increase came from nearly $9 million in pass-through grants from the state. The rest is for inflation contingency.
“We’re setting our budget as a static document adopted for July 1, 2024, Through June 30, 2025,” she said. “So we kind of have to build some scenarios into there to make sure that we can operate under any situation that we encounter.”
Campbell County Administrator Matt Elberfeld said the state approved the budget with no changes, and the county made no adjustments since it was presented in May.
