Walton-Verona Independent School Board of Education unanimously voted to approve pay applications for the Intermediate school at Thursday night’s regular meeting.
It’s the next step for a project that will eventually house fourth and fifth grade students and started in summer of 2021. The vote paves the way for construction to continue.

The board voted quickly, approving the measure without hesitation. Members agreed they were eager to move forward with the project because of the overwhelming growth that the district is experiencing. Â
Staying with the development theme, the board also voted Thursday to approve the request of capital funds and the owner agreement for a new library.
The vote will help keep the library on track for a September 2024 opening. Located at 1300 Towne Center Drive, the library will be over four times larger than the current one.
