The scammers are at it again, according to the Kenton County Sheriff’s Office.

The department is warning folks of a new scam where the person uses the name Justin Bradley and says they are calling from the Civil Service Department. Also using text services, the messages will include a callback number which is not the Kenton County Sheriff’s Office.

Law enforcement will not call or text you about unpaid fines, missed jury duty or outstanding warrants, deputies warn.

Scammers can be very professional when they speak, according to the sheriff’s office. They will try to pressure you for immediate payment over the phone. Do not use redial or use numbers provided by the possible scammer. Hang up on them and block their number.

Contact the Kentucky Attorney General, Office of Consumer Protection at (888) 432- 9257 to report continued scam attempts.
