Mount Notre Dame (Ohio) 55, Ryle 45
The Raiders saw some nice accomplishments in the road loss to the Ohio state power.
Senior center Sarah Baker scored 18 points to lead the Raiders and scored her 1,000th career point in the process. Quinn Eubank and Jaelyn Jones followed with eight each, but Eubank broke Maddie Scherr’s career rebounding record in the loss. Eubank grabbed her 1,095th rebound of her career during the contest, breaking Scherr’s previous record of 1,094. Scherr is a 2020 Ryle graduate currently playing at the University of Kentucky.
Ryle (3-2) hosts Boone County on Friday at 6 p.m. in a 33rd District battle.
Boys Basketball Score

Villa Madonna 49, Ludlow 44
The Villa Madonna boys basketball team ventured near the Ohio River and came back with a 49-44 win over the 34th District rival Ludlow Panthers.
Henry Thole scored 21 points, grabbed 27 rebounds and blocked five shots to lift the Vikings to their second win of the season. Thole is averaging 18.9 per game.
“We were finally hitting shots,” Thole said. “We let the offense come to us instead of forcing stuff so that was a big deal. We were working inside and out, which is usually going to work for us as long as we’re hitting shots. It was a great game.”
Thole had a lot of help in the win as Villa Madonna grabbed 47 rebounds. Aiden Day followed Thole with 16 points and Tommy Wenning grabbed eight rebounds.
Ludlow has three players averaging in double figures and two did it again in the loss. Elijah Perrin scored 14 and Ethan Powell put up 13.
“We just played good team defense,” Villa Madonna head coach Trevor Gould said. “Our rotation was there defensively. The communication was there. It’s probably I’d say the best defense we’ve played minus the Brossart game.”
Villa Madonna (2-5) plays at St. Henry on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Ludlow hosts Newport Central Catholic on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
