Boone County is selling surplus communications equipment that sheriff’s office personnel were previously using.

“We have 18 Inmotion onBoard Mobile Gateways – these are devices that were used to assist our deputies in connecting their in-board computers to data,” Boone County Administrator Matthew Webster said. “They are now obsolete because of our upgrades in the radio system.”

No other county department has identified a use for the devices, which have been housed at the Public Safety Communications Center, Webster said.

“Therefore, PSCC is recommending that they be declared surplus and offered to the public via auction on our govdeals.com site,” Webster said.
